Belarus, is a landlocked country adjacent to Russia, Poland Ukraine,etc. having an area of 207,600 square kilometers (80,200 sq. mi) with a population of 9.3 million. The capital and largest city is MINSK. Belarus is a developing country, ranking 53rd in the Human Development Index. It has been a member of the United Nations since its founding as well as joined the CIS, the CSTO, the EAEU, the OSCE and the Non-Aligned Movement.
Natural resources include peat deposits, small quantities of oil and natural gas, granite, etc. Belarus has trade agreements with several European Union member states. Belarus has trade relations with over 180 countries. The currency of Belarus is the Belarusian rouble. Belarus’s two official languages are Russian and Belarusian. Russian is the most common language used. Belarus has four UNESCO-designated World Heritage Sites. Belarusian cuisine consists mainly of vegetables, meat (particularly pork), and bread.
Belarus is dependent on Russia for imports of raw materials and for its export market.Since independence Belarus has retained close ties to its most dominant neighbour, Russia. In 1999 the two countries signed the Union State Foundation Treaty, which aimed to create a politically integrated confederation with a common currency.Belarus does possess, however, one of the world’s largest reserves of Potash. Potash exports remained high into the early 21st century. mining and manufacturing remain major components of the Belarusian economy and together account for more than one-fourth of GDP with the processing of minerals and hydrocarbons playing an important role. Heavy industry is well developed in Belarus. Heavy-duty vehicles, particularly trucks and tractors, are manufactured here too.
In the early 21st century the banking, communications, and real-estate industries experienced some of the highest rates of growth. Although the tourism industry is less developed in Belarus than in neighboring countries, the revenue derived from tourist activities increased dramatically in the early 21st century.
The climate of Belarus features mild to cold winters, with an average temperature of January starts from minimum −4 °C (24.8 °F) in southwest (Brest) to −8 °C (17.6 °F) in northeast (Vitebsk), and the country has cool and moist summers with a mean temperature of 18 °C (64.4 °F). Belarus has a mean annual rainfall of 550 to 700 mm (21.7 to 27.6 in). The country is within the transitional zone between maritime climates and continental climates.

Belarusian State Medical University was established in 1921 & is located in the capital city of MINSK.BSMU as a leading higher medical educational institution in the Republic of Belarus has deserved international prestige and recognition for the quality of its teaching and research. Its history dates back to 1921, when a Medical Faculty was created on the basis of Belarusian State University. In 1930 the Faculty was reorganized into Minsk Medical Institute. More than 800 educators and researchers are engaged in scientific work. 7046 students, 68 PhD students and 286 clinical residents (including 808 international students and 74 overseas medical residents) study at 72 departments of the University.
Currently the University has concluded more than 60 agreements on collaboration with international research
and educational institutions. In late 1950s BSMU

the BSMU during Soviet times until the late 1990s.

Grodno State Medical University is a university in Grodno, Belarus. It specialises in medicine and medical psychology. Vitebsk State Medical University was founded in 1934. At present it has 5 faculties
: the medical-preventive faculty, the pharmaceutical faculty, the faculty for up-dating specialists, the faculty for training
specialists for foreign countries, the pre-University training faculty. Vitebsk State Medical University trains specialists
in two specialties: “doctor” and “pharmaceutist” and for foreign countries – “doctor of medicine” and “master of pharmacy.”
Graduates are trained in 39 specialties including residency in 22, post-graduate course in 23 and course for a doctor’ s
degree in 15 specialties. There are 50 departments at the University. The University possesses faculties appropriate for
training specialists at a higher school. The University is a large scientific center: 55 doctors and 204 candidates of
science work in it. The main directions of its research activities are: transplantation of tissue and organs , cardiovascular
diseases, immune-deficient conditions, role of hereditary factors in the development of parasitogenic process, diseases of
abdominal organs, arterial hypertension and the principles of its prevention, infections in surgery, development of minor
invasive surgical methods, brain injury, development of technologies of new medicine preparations. In Institute there are
special departmental resources like computer facilities, Internet, library, student scientific-research society, sport
